President of the foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat

Launch of the third session of the “I discover my heritage” program in Rabat… The Foundation organizes a workshop to train and build capacity of teachers in art and cultural education and intangible heritage.

On Monday March 04, 2024, the Foundation for the Preservation of Rabat’s Cultural Heritage, chaired by HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa, organized a training and capacity-building workshop for more than 50 teachers from 52 secondary schools in Rabat, Salé and Tamara who signed up for the third session of its educational program I discover my heritage, a program implemented by the Foundation in partnership with Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, UNESCO and other partners.

The workshop introduced teachers to the program’s educational kit and to the concepts of tangible, intangible, landscape and underwater cultural heritage. The capacity-building sessions also included training workshops in intangible heritage-related artistic and literary productions, to further cement the role of cultural and artistic education.

This year’s session will see the launch of the program’s magazine, and it is in this vein that this training will give teachers the opportunity to support students in highlighting their talents in drawing, literature, journalism and photography.

The workshop was led by experts in the fields of heritage, media, literature and art, representing the Morocco’s National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage Sciences, the Morocco’s Graduate Institute of Information and Communication and the Morocco’s Tetouan Institute of Fine Arts.
