Le 14 février 2020, le Conseil d’Administration de la Fondation pour la Sauvegarde du Patrimoine Culturel de Rabat, présidé par Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Hasnaa, arrêtait un plan d’action très riche offrant aux acteurs du patrimoine culturel – institutionnels, société civile et experts – de multiples opportunités d’échanger les visions et de partager les savoirs. La volonté première de la Fondation étant de conjuguer la préservation du patrimoine culturel non au passé, mais au futur et toujours au pluriel.

Towards a new management plan for the inscribed property

As transverse coordinator of actions in favor of the preservation and enhancement of the UNESCO listed site, the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat has organized, in partnership with the Ministry Of Youth Culture And Sports and the Wilaya of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region, a meeting officially launching the process of updating the management plan for the Modern City of Rabat, inscribed on the World Heritage list.

Institutional partners, civil society and the private sector have been invited to contribute in the work of six thematic commissions whose conclusions will feed the future management plan covering the period 2021-2025. The objective pursued by this exchange of views was to propose a plan adapted to the current territorial dynamics while seizing the opportunities offered by new technical means and modes of communication.

The six commissions addressed the following themes:

  • The legal framework
  • The protection and enhancement of cultural heritage
  • The Economic development
  • Communication, marketing and networking
  • Cultural heritage in the digital age
  • The Governance
