As part of its awareness-raising mission, the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat, presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, organized a new workshop on Thursday, April 24, at 2:00 PM, within the “Foundation Workshops” program, titled:
” Understanding Intangible Cultural Heritage: Definitions, issues, and international framework “, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
This Workshop provided a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the intangible cultural heritage, through the exploration of key concepts, international references, and the legal framework established by the 2003 UNESCO Convention, while also addressing the current challenges related to safeguarding of this living heritage and its transmission to future generations.
The event was moderated by the following experts:
- Dr. Ahmed Skounti – Anthropologist at the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage (INSAP), and UNESCO facilitator
- Dr. Abdessalam Amarir – Head of the Heritage Inventory and Documentation Division at the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Culture Sector
