The Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, took part in the inaugural edition of Casablanca’s International Children’s and Young People’s Book Fair, held at Parc Anfa on November 15-22, 2023, with a range of activities designed to showcase the city of Rabat’s cultural heritage.
The Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat, as part of its educational programs, and in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, staged a variety of activities around the city’s cultural heritage on November 15, 2023, for some 60 schoolchildren at two workshops featuring Foundation programs. Schoolchildren in attendance discovered Foundation cultural heritage publications, produced by young people for young people, including “I Tell my Heritage”, which illustrates tales of our immaterial heritage, as drawn and recounted by the 120 children who took part in the ¨I Draw my Heritage¨ program.
Some thirty schoolchildren, attended an interactive workshop designed to raise awareness of the capital’s cultural heritage, using Foundation programs educational tools.
Some thirty middle-school students attended a second discussion, debate and exchange workshop, introducing the ¨I Draw my Heritage¨ program, as well as other themes and concepts related to the cultural heritage of Rabat and Casablanca.
The Fondation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat’s participation in the International Children’s and Young People’s Book Fair is part of its mission to educate and facilitate youth access to cultural heritage.
