President of the foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat

The Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat launches an exclusive virtual tour of the Qasba of Oudaia

The Fondation for the Sauvegarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat , chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, has launched an exclusive virtual tour of the Qasba of Oudaia, as part of its ambitious “the digitization of Heritage” program.

This tour will give Internet users virtual access to the entire Qasba of Oudaia, including areas not open to the public, an exclusive virtual tour that the Foundation is offering to the general public.

Through this tour, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the history of the Qasba and the civilizations that have succeeded one another there, while learning about the main changes that the Qasba has undergone as a result of its strategic geographical location.

In addition to the four languages available to visitors for this guided tour (Arabic, French, English and Spanish), guaranteeing seamless access in sound, photo and written text, the Foundation is also offering a self-guided tour to explore the Qasba without a guide.

The digitization of the Qasba of Oudaia aims to reinforce the Foundation’s mission of preserving the cultural heritage of the city of Rabat, noting that the objective of this operation goes beyond a simple virtual tour of heritage sites.

This immersive visit preserves all the details of the heritage sites, thanks to a topographical survey of the site, using specialized equipment and modern technologies to capture all its particularities (architectural, technical, etc.) down to the millimeter.

The digitization of the Qasba of Oudaia is the second experiment in the digitization of heritage program overseen by the Foundation, which has already worked on the digitization of the Fort Rottembourg, as part of a pilot project that aroused keen interest among the general public and players in the sector.
