President of the foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat

Around heritage… Educational workshops and interactive activities organized by the Foundation for the 2nd International Children and Youth Book Fair

The Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat, presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, took part in the second edition of the International Children and Youth Book Fair held at Casablanca’s Parc Anfa from December 14 to 22, 2024, through a series of interactive educational activities, thanks to which the Foundation highlighted the role of heritage in strengthening identity and developing educational skills among young people.

As part of its education and awareness programs, the Foundation, in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, organized innovative activities based on educational tools for 120 participants in workshops on December 17, 2024, aimed at promoting dialogue with young people about heritage, while providing them with innovative tools to explore and interact with their heritage in a creative and participatory way.

The BINGO Heritage workshop provided middle school students with an enriching opportunity to discover the multiple representations of heritage, whether material, immaterial, or landscape-based, through an engaging guessing game. This interactive approach allowed the young participants to broaden their understanding of heritage by highlighting the importance of its various elements in the richness of their cultural legacy. The second workshop, Derj or Ktef, invited students to immerse themselves in traditional Moroccan patterns, involving them in puzzle games, identifying these patterns on monuments, and participating in a coloring activity, thus stimulating their creativity while deepening their knowledge of local craftsmanship.

The Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat, participation in the Salon International du Livre Enfant et Jeunesse is part of its mission to educate and raise awareness of children and young people’s access to cultural heritage.
