Professionals from the worlds of education, arts and culture will share their experiences. The session will discuss the challenges and opportunities of an integrative approach that combines education, art, culture, learning and lifelong learning. The panel will emphasize the importance of bringing together a range of players to create a coalition and strengthen the unifying approach to education and culture, and will open the debate on contextual education, inclusion, lifelong learning, the place of educators and the development of pedagogical tools in the field of arts and cultural education. The function of art as a universal language will be presented through a philosophical approach that highlights the representation of the art of Arabic calligraphy. IRCICA will highlight as a good example of a subject that can be introduced fruitfully to curriculums and/or to supplementary and reference materials with the purpose of covering cultural subjects, reinforcing culture consciousness and building understanding between different cultures. The panel will highlight the different approaches in the integration and appropriation of cultural heritage through education by establishing a dialogue between the education sector and the entities responsible for heritage (museums, foundations, associations, artists, etc.). The speakers will share the educational methods that they have adapted according to the contexts and conditions and will illustrate the unifying role of the notions of heritage in the initiation to the subjects of art and culture.
