The Foundation for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage of Rabat, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and ICOMOS Morocco, holds a regional art workshop at the Botanical Gardens on Tuesday, April 26, for some 60 schoolchildren hailing from 20 Rabat schools. The event coincides with annual International Day for Monuments and Sites celebrations, which ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) began organizing in 1982, and shall, in 2022, revolve around the timely theme of “Heritage and Climate”.
Students will be invited to draw their own rendition of the theme, building on research and production work on the city’s landscape heritage performed in class, following a guided visit to Rabat’s historical gardens, namely the Nouzhat Hassan, the Botanical Garden, the Chellah Garden and the Andalusian Gardens of the Oudaïa Qasba.
